GameStop is a chain of video game stores owned by EB GameStop. The first GameStop stores opened in 1984 as "Babbage's". Following its merger with EB Games, the Babbage's name is mostly phased out in favor for the "GameStop" name, but some older stores may still have the Babbage's nameplate.
GameStop Kids[]
In 2012, EB GameStop introduced the GameStop Kids brand as a "carve-in" to some GameStop or EBX stores. The brand focus on children's products, and carried only games rated "Everyone" by the ESRB, along with merchandise of popular franchises aimed towards the demographic.
